This step by step guide will show you how to become an affiliate marketer and make money from the commissions you'll make by promoting and selling other peoples' digital products.

Step 1

Start the ball rolling by signing up for affiliate programs that are related to digital products. The most popular of these include Clickbank, JVZoo, Warrior Plus and Digistore24.

Step 2

Create a free website or blog using one of the easiest platforms around, which is Blogger (owned by Google). You'll need a Google account, which is easy to sign up for. Focus the topic of the blog on online courses, ebooks and other digital assets that are available to promote through one of the affiliate marketplaces mentioned in Step 1.

Step 3

Select a popular product that is trending right now and write a comprehensive review of it, using information you can easily find by researching and reading other website reviews. Make your review articles unique (do not copy other people's articles word for word) and publish it to your new blog. Include your affiliate link in that article with an attractive call to action (CTA) that will cause people to click it to see what you're showing them.

Step 4

Using your Google account, create a Youtube channel also focused on digital products and complete the description and verify the channel. Grab your phone and make a short video of yourself talking about the product you're promoting on your blog. Include a link to your review blog post in the description of the video. Warning: Don't be tempted to also add your affiliate link to the video description as Youtube frowns on that practice and may remove your video for violation of their terms. The whole point is to direct traffic to your blog review post!

Step 5

Go to your social profiles on Facebook, Twitter (X), Instagram and whatever else you have and share the link to your video and your review blog post. If you don't have these social accounts, create them, it's easy to do so. Look around for other social platforms you may not already have and create accounts on them and start sharing your video and blog post links. The idea here is to get your links out there in front of as many eyes as possible and direct them to read your blog review post.

Step 6

Watch your affiliate account's balance start to grow with the commission on each new sale you generate through your efforts!

Capitalize on Your Investment

Whether or not you view what you just did by following the above 6 steps as an investment, since you didn't actually spend any money, it actually is.

You invested a lot of your time, which is about as valuable as you can get. You can always make money and when it runs out, make some more.

However, you cannot make more time.

So make the most of your initial investment by multiplying your time and effort by promoting as many different products as you can. When the money starts to roll in, use some of it to invest cash into your new business by increasing your visitor numbers by paying for advertisements.

This part scares a lot of people, but in order to effectively scale up your business, you will need to multiply your traffic through paid ads. Don't skip this part, because it could be the most important step you can take and if done right, will elevate your income by many times.
